Nancy was raised in New York City and grew up fostering a goal to wake up some morning and see the mountains. For years she questioned if she could leave an urban area and still be able to make a comfortable living. Eventually Nancy took the leap and moved to Vermont.
Initially Nancy worked for Chittenden Bank, now owned by Peoples United Bank, in the commercial lending department, then moved to Wills Insurance Agency, obtaining her insurance license and concentrating again on the commercial field. From there she developed her entrepreneur skills and opened her own business, Panache, a women’s apparel, furniture and gift shop. Over the next thirty years she grew the business by relocating to four different locations, each time expanding the size. Developing Panache turned out to be both a very fulfilling and successful career. Nancy retired Panache at the end of 2016 and joined Hoisington Realty in 2018 looking for a new challenge and career.
Nancy was president of the Catamount Rotary Club, making her the first woman president in Southern Vermont. While President she started the Interact Club at our local high school, which is based on student community service. Nancy was also one of the founding members of the Better Bennington Corp, serving the Bennington Downtown District. Being a strong advocate of New England living Nancy partnered with her son, Kris in 1998 and became commercial investors in downtown property.
Nancy is the mother of two, Kris and Laurel, and a very proud grandmother. Her favorite pastime is gardening.
